La mitologia greca ci racconta che in Fenicia
viveva una bellissima principessa, "Europa". La fanciulla aveva l'abitudine di recarsi, insieme alle ragazze della sua età,
sulla riva del mare per bagnarsi o per raccogliere dei fiori ed intrecciarne multicolori ghirlande. Zeus (Giove) la vide dall'alto....
e se ne innamorò! Per non spaventarla, si trasformò in un meraviglioso toro bianco. Europa lo accarezzò, salì in groppa ed
il toro si mise a correre verso la spiaggia. Il mare, come per incanto, si aprì al suo passaggio ed i due si diressero verso
l'isola di Creta. Dopo un po' , Zeus riprese il suo originario aspetto e dichiarò il suo amore alla bella Europa!

version
Greek mithology tells us about Europe, daughter of the Phoenician King Agenor. The princess was very beautiful
and she used to go to sea with her friends to take a bath. Zeus fell in love with her and decided to conquer her by transforming
himself in a wonderful white bull. She saw him, climbed on his back and he took her to Crete, galloping through the sea which
opened its waters, at his presence. There, Zeus took back his original appearance and declared his love to Europa.

is what Greek mythology tells us...
